Abstract

Starting from a posture of greater demand of the consumers and the society in general, the companies began to adopt certain practices of social responsibility. Financial institutions also began to receive collections from investors, government and clients, incorporating management practices aimed at maintaining a good social image. This research intends to approach CSR in the financial institutions that are present in the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) group. The objective is to analyze the continuity in the development of projects of corporate social responsibility in financial institutions that are part of ISE. The research is classified as exploratory regarding the objectives, documentary about the procedures and qualitative approach regarding the problem. The sample is composed of the four institutions present in the Corporate Responsibility Index (ISE) during the years 2011 to 2015. In the comparison of amounts invested, it is noted that all banks have an expressive value for social responsibility projects, this demonstrates as the financial segment is engaged with society in general and with the environment. The results indicate that social responsibility projects of financial institutions are perennial and that the greatest social investments are in the education and culture segment.
