What are we going to produce tomorrow? The use of scripts in order processing in a food company
Abstract
Customisation of business management software may not be a financially viable alternative for micro or small enterprises. This manuscript describes the improvement of a production order issuing process using spreadsheet scripts in a food industrial company in the Federal District. The company is four years old and uses a compact, pre-configured Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The solution was proposed during the compulsory internship of a logistics student at a federal educational institution. The scripts developed make it possible to process orders with two clicks from the user. As a result, the process of issuing production orders is more efficient and what could take several hours is now done in a few seconds. The improvement implemented can serve as a reference for the ERP owner, as well as for other micro or small industries that issue manual or automated production orders that do not meet the needs of the end users.
